MOLL 7: SOULED AMERICAN: FROZEN

Fifth release by Chicago's masters of abstract slow motion country-folk. Hardly any drums, lonesome electric guitar tunes: Music as a - frozen - state of mind. Excellent reviews all over, listed amongst the »records of the year 1994« in the German »Rolling Stone« and »ME/Sounds«, »record of the month« in the French magazine »Les Inrockuptibles«.

MOLL 8: FLOWERPORNOES: RED NICHT VON STRASSEN, NICHT VON ZÜGEN

Which turned them into one of the most popular German underground bands. Bearing a deeper acoustic folk-rock influence than the more independent-rock orientated »Mamas Pfirsiche«. »Record of the month« in »Prinz« and voted into the »records of the year 1994«-category of the German »Rolling Stone«. Nearly sold out tour in November and December 1994. Liwa Homepage

MOLL 9: STEPHEN YERKEY: CONFIDENCE, MAN

The first album by this marvellous singer/songwriter from San Francisco, formerly the bandleader of Nonfiction. Excellent songs performed in a large variety of styles ranging from country-folk and rock to talkin-blues and jazz, featuring his outstanding baritone voice. 1994's no.1 in the folk/songwriter charts of »Spex«. Produced by Eric Drew Feldman (Cpt. Beefheart, Snakefinger, Frank Black).

MOLL 10: ROGER MANNING: ROGER MANNING

The Moll-debut of this hyperactive street-singer genius from New York after one album each on SST and Shimmy Disc. Loud acoustic rock songs (sometimes augmented with outrageous electric guitars), crazy roadstory-lyrics and lots of pulsating energy by this »travelling musician«.

MOLL 11: ETHAN JAMES: WHAT ROUGH BEAST

Terrific follow-up to »Shaking Hands With Kafka« with an even wider and more pop influenced musical range. Songwriting, hurdy-gurdy and a weird and moody atmosphere create a fantastic journey into the sounds of the Middle Ages.

MOLL 12: THE SEA AND CAKE: NASSAU

Second release by these Chicago all stars. John McEntire is also in Tortoise, Gastr Del Sol and Red Crayola, Archer Prewitt is in The Coctails, Sam Prekop and Eric Claridge were in Shrimp Boat. A sensitive combination of modern pop music, soulful grooves and a jazzy feel. Received outstanding reviews in nearly all the relevant magazines including a very respectable no. 18 in the editorial staff's year-end charts of »Spex« .
